| The TorqShift transmission is equipped with a serviceable external fluid filter mounted on the frame rail. You'll need a 22mm socket to remove the filter housing. | |||||||||||||

| The filter element looks like a roll of toilet paper. The removeable base cap is a pressure relief device with a magnet and spring mounted at the bottom of the filter. The base cap was taken off the old filter, cleaned and placed on the new filter. | |||||||||||||

| The new filter element being pre-soaked in filter housing. Fill the filter housing about 1/3 full with Mercon SP transmission fluid. Install cleaned base cap on filter element end (pick an end, they are both the same) and slowly lower the whole assembly into the housing. Let the fluid soak in for a few minutes. |

| Trying to install the filter while in the housing back on the filter base is almost impossible. I had to remove the filter element from the housing and install it onto the filter base. The filter element and base cap hang from the filter base while the element housing is screwed back on (and while this picture was being taken). | |||||||||||||
